Youth Council and Shout Out featured onQ101 Harrisonburg’s Hit Music Station‘s newest show “The Halls” yesterday. Listen to the podcast and see photos here!!!
The taping took place this past Friday with Jojo. He interviewed Becky about Shout Out- a social network for teens on facebook and THIS BLOG and Josh about Youth Council, a Wednesday night youth group and outlet for youth to plan and implement community service projects for the community. Then Jojo went on to ask Youth Council members to respond to the question, “What pressures do you face at school?” Our group was pretty timid as this was a tough question to start off with. Thanks goes to Pedro, Beca and Johnny for answering Jojo’s questions on bullying, peer pressure to skip school and drugs/alcohol. Jojo then asked if the members of the group would share their favorite artist/role model and that ended the quiet streak. Thank you to those who shared! We hope that “The Halls” becomes popular amonst Harrisonburg and Rockingham County youth because 1. the great first show we did (!!) and 2. the show has a ton of great potential to address really complex issues we tend not to talk about. It was an honor to have taken part. Thank you Q101!
